As of the 31st of March 2008, The Listening Company acquired control of The essentiagroup.

The Listening Company, like The essentiagroup is a provider of outsourced contact centres, specialising in managing consumer interactions, whilst delivering the optimum return on investment for clients and driving brand market share.

They employ 2,000 people across their contact centres within Richmond, Portsmouth and Tonbridge and work with prestigious brands such as Shell, Toyota, Volkswagen and O2. The main services provided on behalf of clients include sales, service, advocacy, planning and consultancy.

This development represents a pivotal moment in the history of both organisations, where the combined group of companies will employ over 2,500 people in six locations in the UK, will manage over 31 million conversations every year, and will have revenues of over £55 million.

The mix of skills sets across The Listening Company and The essentiagroup is tremendously powerful and we hope to be able to offer you benefits as a result of this. In addition, we also have much greater flexibility and scalability to offer, as a result of our increased geographical spread.

The acquisition represents a major step forward in the strategic growth plan of the company.
